I read a report on this forum a few months ago about using a mirrodine lure for reds. I had used similar lures fishing for bass and decided to try one. It turned out to be a great lure, catching reds, flounder and trout(and ladyfish and blues)-
Catching trout has been tough for my son (Todd), but he catches more reds and flounder than anybody I know. So......on the eve of the Jaxkayakfishing inshore slam tournament, he bought a mirrodine and grabbed a nice 16" trout on the first cast. Several casts later and he had a 20.5" trout and headed to his usual spots for reds and flounder.(the tournament is an inshore NE Florida slam(trout, red, flounder))
The tournament drew 282 kayak fishermen, including several from the west coast and many from outside of Florida. Todd managed to finish first in the slam with 63.4".
Thanks for the tip-it sure helped Todd!!
