Paddle-Fishing Challenge Series #2 - "Cooknfish Tribute"

Mark Bellotte aka “Cooknfish” was a diehard artificial lure user, as well as a minimalist. So in his honor, we will supply you the lures to use. Thanks to Mirrolure and Riptide for their generous donations. For this reason it will be limited to the first 65 anglers. (If we end up with more, we’ll figure something out)

Date: Saturday, November 17th

Image

When: Sign in starts at 6:00 a.m.

SIGN IN LOCATION: 10730 Gandy Blvd N. That's the San Martin Village strip mall. There's a cat hospital in there. The sidewalk in front is a wooden walkway with railings. Its well lit and off the main road, so its a bit safer for everyone

Launch can be no earlier than 6:45 a.m.

The deadline to turn in your catch sheets is 2:00 p.m. Don't be late.

Launch Area:

SEE THIS POST FOR UPDATED LAUNCH AREA - http://paddle-fishing-forum.com/viewtop ... 39&t=37816" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Format: The format will be a Slam Tournament with a twist. There will be a minimum slot for each species.

Snook - 20" minimum
Redfish - 18" minimum
Trout - 15" minimum

Catch all three, above the minimum slot and you get 30 points.

Bonus fish - Flounder - minimum 12" is worth 10 points.
Snapper - minimum 10" is worth 5 points.

Max points is 45 points. In case of a tie, the tie breaker will be who has the biggest Snook.

All fish should be measured on a clearly visiable measuring board, NATURAL LAY with nothing on or obstructing the veiw of the fish. Place the token on the measuring board, not the fish. Do not block the veiw by holding the fish or placing the bag with your score sheet on top of the fish.

I will be providing the following lures: (Big Thanks to Mirrolures and Riptide)

A Mirromullet XL in Greenback color.
3.5” Realistic Shrimp - Golden Glow
5” Flats Chub – Firefly
4” Conley Grub – Rootbeer
4” Mullet – Smoke / Gold Halo

You will supply three weedless hooks and three jig heads of your choice.

Pic n' Sip:

The Pic-N_Sip will be held at The St. Pete Brasserie. (Owned by our very own Justin aka “13”)

533 Central Ave, St Petersburg, FL

Parking will be provided in a secure / guarded parking lot with in a block of the restaurant.
Justin will have a great menu lined up for us when we arrive. Thanks Justin!!!

Cost:
$10. With half the proceeds going to the “Cooknfish Memorial Fund”. Please bring a 10 dollar bill, or two 5 dollar bills.

My intent is to supply you with all the lures.

You may be allowed to bring one lure of your choice, but I havent made up my mind on that one. If I do, you'll have plenty of time to get what you need.

This tribute to Mark will reflect his fishing style. Minimum is the key. He didnt use that many lures on a daily trip, so neither will any of us.

Riptide is on board and will be suppling 4 different plastic baits for you to use. YOU will bring three weedless jerk bait hooks and three jig heads of your choice.

I'm working on some more sponsors for the raffle as well.

More to come.
