PFTS #4 "The Erick Bell Memorial" Final Results

Post by Todd »

Full report and pictures HERE

WE had 33 anglers show up today to fish the "Erick Bell Memorial". The Erick Bell Memorial, no he is not dead, is a tribute to Erick Bell who originally started this mess 6 years ago. The lure of choice was an Exude gold dart rigged to th eanglers preference. It was a gorgeous Florida day to say the least.

Many thanks to the Cop Shop Restaurant in Oldsmar, they treated us very well and I hope we can go back in the future. Many thanks to all our sponsors who provide prizes and goodies for all the anglers.

Slam Division
1St Place-ChrisR with a 63" Slam. $165.00
2nd Place-BigFlyReel with a 44.5" slam. $99.00
3rd Place-MarkM with a snook/red combo of 47", $66.00

ChrisR was the only angler to catch a slam, BigFlyReel was able to land a flounder (and replace the snook) to complete his slam.

Trout Division
First Place-Cooknfish 20"
Second Place-RockinReelin 19"
Third Place-Mudfish 17.75"

Snook Division
First PLace-Paul from Masthead enterprises-26"
Second Place-TerryB 24.25"
Third Place-13 18"

Redfish Division
Frist Place-Heywood 29"
Second Place-SilverK 21.5"
Thrid Place-TampaMike 17.75"

Congrats to all the winners!!! Thank you to Rik, Todd, MarkM and anyone else who helps to put these things together. Thanks to Erick Bell for starting it all!! The first tourney he started was the first one I ever fished and the first one I ever won so this tourney holds a soft spot in my heart! : ) MarkM and I both won the VERY first tourney and today we were lucky enough... well I lucky enough to place and he was skilled enough to place again six years later!!!! I would also like to give a big THANK YOU to the SPONSORS of these events. It wouldn't be nearly as nice without them so make sure you all support them~!!!
Boy I sure do talk a lot after two years off the water!! lol
As Always, you guys are the BEST bunch of guys in world! Love you all!!

These tournaments never fail! Always good times with good people, even when conditions suck. Thanks to all those responsible, (Todd, Rik and Mark), our kind and lovely handcuff bearing hosts at the Cop Shop, and all our dedicated sponsors. Everyone involved makes these events worthwhile.

Gents,

Sounds like a great event - congratulations the the winners. Hate I missed this one but had just returned from from a week of diving and fishing in Hawaii and could not make the early show.... Life is tough sometimes.... Glad to see it was another awesome event. I look forward to the next one.

Regards,

I laugh every time I see this photo.
Is it just me or does Todd seem shorter than normal here? Maybe the risers in my shoes don't help.

Thanks again for a great tournament! Hopefully the "turkeys" will make it out for the finale in April.
Congrats to ChrisR, too! Looks like you slid into the top spot for AOY.

We only had 33 guys show up, so the odds were a little better for me yesterday.

I had a great time. The weather was perfect, and the tide at DB was just right for me and Todd to float out and back to the bay, in steering-only mode. Caught a couple nice fish, saw plenty more; it's going to be a good next couple months in my favorite fishing spot.

Nice to see both John and Sharon back in action. They both still have the same fishing skills as ever.
John, hope your shoulder is better soon. Sharon, it was nice to somewhat repeat the first-ever OLC. If Mark posts the picture he took yesterday, I'll put up the one I have from that first tournament, and we can both have a good chuckle.

See you all at the next one!

Welcome back "Guv'nuh"!!

How'd the Native and "the seat" treat that back of yours? Curious to hear about that!

I love the PFTS series - If it was not for the tournaments I would probably never get the chance to go fishing.

Great to see Johnster out - hope the shouldner gets better

Thanks for the welcome back guys.
Gil the Native is superb, fished for a solid 5 hours and no back pain what so ever.

The shoulder is much better today, some anti-inflammatory gel and I'm back to normal.

I'm back and loving it, a rudder will be the next purchase.

Thanks for all the hard work on this guys. It is truly appreciated. Weather was perfect. My GPS says I paddled 7.95 miles. I caught no fish. Had a great time.
Being out on the water in the kayak is the prize. Catching fish is the bonus.
