Some great food as well as a few brews were consumed..., highlight event for the team to shake off winter and welcome spring.
The kayak anglers were instrumental in several areas of the lead pouring process along with our shore and boat contingent.

Small world DaveR..., do they fish? Portsmouth, Middletown or Newport?

No, they don't fish. My sister and her husband live in Middletown. Have for as long as can remember. As a lad I used to visit and we would go over to the Navy base and fish for flounder and tataug sp. off an old dilapidated pier. Really had to watch where you stepped or you would go right through.
Spent a cold night or two soaking eels for strippers too. Never caught any stripers though. This was back in the 70s.

Flounder fishery isn't what it used to be..., the stripah on the other hand is a whole different story. Pretty soon we will be jigging up squid from that old pier (T-shaped), still dilapidated. Eels are referred to as Striper Candy now, but I've never seen them turn up fresh chunks of Menhaden, Porgy or Sea Worms...,
