Yesterday Thursday I went to my favorite spot near Caledesi Island. Conditions were perfect for top water lures. After an hour I only had 1 half hearted pass from a lady fish. I switched to a chartreuse white jig. same results. Mullet are swarming all around but no bites at all! I casnetted green back white bait and thought A Ha this is what they are eating. Floating on a cork almost 0 interest. In desperation I added a split shot an tossed it out. Now I started catching fish. Drifting or anchored trout came to play. No trophys but finally a pull. At an edge of the flats with current a fish finally pulled drag a SNOOK! By now the tide had came in so I went to the Mangroves and using the same technique bait on the bottom I caught one 15 inch red. This was it for me the bite was super slow but this was my first inshorre slam. The water was murky probably from the recent front mullet were thick and active the predetors were apparently on vacation.
