Holly and I went fishing today……we caught about 10 Trout and 1 awesome surprise.
It started out as a pretty good day for catching Trout. They weren’t in their usual “long hole” that they’re often found in, so we explored the surrounding flats, and managed to catch a Trout about every 15-20 minutes.
In the middle of the Trout bite…….I hit this Monster Snook. This is my personal best, by far.
When I saw the swirl in the water and determined it wasn’t a Redfish, I was thinking it was a Gator Trout……….. for the longest time, until it showed itself alongside the Kayak. Holy%#@&, a Snook. I have only caught a couple of snook before this one, and figured they would be in the warmer canals, not on the flats. Anyway, it was a great ride. The Snook spun the Kayak at least twice. Thankfully, Holly was there to get the video.
Hopefully the Snook continue to re-populate around here, because that was an awesome fishing experience (and exhausting for both me and the fish).

Very nice and loved the video.
Being out on the water in the kayak is the prize. Catching fish is the bonus.
