Check out these trout

Post by Gibby3474 »

Large, I mean really large, trout aren't part of our vocabulary here on the west coast of Florida and, in particular, Sarasota Bay. However, this spring has been the exception. A couple of weeks ago, a friend of mine caught a two 6-pound seatrout in three days. I was in awe.
This morning, my client, Chuck Linn of Oklahoma, caught three of more than 6 pounds, including one that went slightly more than 7. What a day! In fact, he totaled five trout of more than 4 pounds. All were taken on topwater plugs in a foot of water. He also landed a pair of redfish, but lost a bull reds that was substantial.
Great day on the water.

Did those trout migrate over from the East coast? Nice work!

Amazing...well done.
Being out on the water in the kayak is the prize. Catching fish is the bonus.

There seems that after the bad winter a few years ago that the trout SOTE have gotten bigger. Over slot and some close to 30's have become alot more plentiful IMO.
