More Snook Good News

Post by Manning »

Went fishing yesterday afternoon starting about 1:30. Visited most of my usual favorite spots, but other than one small trout it just was not happening. So I decided to take a little excursion up a local creek to see if there were signs of a snook kill up there. Based on prior experience I know the snook run up there in cold weather. I actually saw no signs of dead fish. Nothing to see and nothing to smell. Water is very dark so if they were on the bottom I could not see them. Decided to throw the old DOA shad tail just to see if anybody was home and started getting snook hits immediately. I caught between 10 and 20 fish from snooklets to mid 20's. All put up a hell of a fight. They seemed to be in great shape, but a little on the thin side. No pics are included as I didn't take any of them out of the water.
Being out on the water in the kayak is the prize. Catching fish is the bonus.

I got a feisty little 17" snook yesterday that made my day. Not far from the ICW and no sign of stress.
I have trouble acting normal.

Well done sir. Don't care to see snook pics for a while.
