The reds still love me...Pic added

Post by Norm »

Finally got out yesterday with my buddy Dan. Doing a little pre-fishing for the Halloween PFTS coming up. May be the only shot I get before the tournament and I desparately wanted to get some time on the water.
It was a beautiful morning, but still HOT :!: Was 80 degrees when I stepped out my front door at 6am.
Was pretty quiet most of the morning, but finally found the pattern. Seems the red-shouldered spotted drum was hanging on the sandy spots.
Got to love that Bone spook...just drives them wild. I typically don't have much luck with the top waters and Reds, but this was an exception. Finally landed my first red in quite awhile. Measured out at 27-28 inches and very fat. His buddy was trying to grab the lure out of his mouth at the same time..and he was at least 6 inches longer  What a blast :!: Had a bunch more blow-ups, but no hookups  Landed a couple of small trout, and a sasquatch pinfish
All in all, the best part was fishing with my buddy Dan again....been too long my friend

Still got the Mojo! Must have felt real nice to get out again no matter the weather eh Norm. That's the second instance I've heard of red's fighting over a Spook. Verrry cool. Of course I don't believe your fish story without any pics but, hey, it sure sounded good.
