How about a group trip to some of those great spots that are woefully missing from the Destinations page? :D

What a great idea Terry!! I cannot find any SOTE destinations on our new destination page and this would be a great opportunity to see them firsthand.

Maybe DaveR, Rik, Shamus, Noles or any of the other SOTE paddle anglers could rent a bus and we could have a guided tour to all the hot SOTE spots. I will volunteer to buy some beer for the bus.

I thought I read somewhere that with this new website re-design that the SOTE destination page was going to set the standard for future destination pages??

Or did I write that myself?

Hey Dave while your at it you might as well add a few of those lesser known NOTE spot's so the "new" destinations page is complete  After all, it could take someone quite a while to find some of them and this could help all the newbies reduce their learning curve and meet up with other yakkers from the forum. This way everyone won't be going to the same well known popular destinations all the time and perhaps it would ease the overcrowding concerns.

Eagerly awaiting.

Bill-When the Sote destination page is complete and sets the standard we can update all the other future destination pages. And what does a guy in NC care about anyway, go catch a small trout would ya"!

I think a Mother Ship trip to the SOTE destinations might be a really good thing. Quite a few yaks could hit a lot of spots in just one day. Better yet, how about a couple of Mother Ships!

Where will Ft. Desoto be once the new and improved destinations page is complete??

I always thought of Ft. Desoto as N.O.T.E. since the Hillsborough/Manatee county line runs way south of Ft.D. Someone once said that it sits outside of the Skyway so that makes it S.O.T.E. :? That's feeble. :P Besides, the roads to launch your kayak are from Pinellas County and I seriously doubt anyone has paddled their kayak from Anna Maria to Ft Desoto to fish.

Seems as if some of the S.O.T.E. playas want to and do claim Ft. Desoto as theirs.

Gil

p.s. Yes, I know this has come up before but I just wanted to "stir the pot" a little so the new N.O.T.E. anglers here will know their waters are being confiscated by S.O.T.E.s. :)

That's easy. Within 500 yards of any beach from Naples to Cedar key.

Sorry Dave, I know you're going to yell at me and tell me to keep my fat mouth shut but these are our forum brothers and sisters. I just can't deny them the secret spot for tarpon.

John Kuminski on the east coast does just that...I think its $40 a head to follow him around and find the put ins..

Sounds like an opportunity for somebody

I'll give up 10 spots from Manatee County line to Sara/Charlotte for a one time donation and I'll supply the beer at each stop.

I can only fit 8 in the van though.

Well its good to finally see the SOTE DP project up and running. I just want to say thanks to all the SOTE guys for stepping up to the plate and a special thanks to DaveR for him spearheading the effort.
Bus tours, mother ships, GPS maps, all great ideas to open up this great fishery to the entire kayaking community.
