Memorial Day Fishing

Post by Todd »

Set out this AM with Erick and MarkM to our new, yet very old  , fishing spot. Had not been fishing in this area since a few months before the red tide did its damage last year.

Started off to a beautiful sunrise but not enough water.

Finally walked, dragged and paddled to the destination. Plenty of bait and mullet but only one red.

But alas he was too big which did not make "she who must be obeyed" very happy as the girls at home really wanted a fresh redfish dinner. 29" and very plump and healthy.

Unfortunately we all had committments and had to leave early just as the fish started to show up. We started to see a good show of fish as the tide came in but we had to be good boys and go home. :(

Mark was the lucky winner of the day. When we arrived back at the launch he found two fully rigged rods that he had left leaning against the side of his truck. Amazing they were still there.

Even though only one fish was caught it was still a great morning out with two good friends.

(I also wanted to be the first with a WC fishing report  )

Nice red and new rig, Todd. I just had a rudder put on the 160i, it makes a huge difference, much more than I expected. See you on Friday.

It was a good day, and we did see a "few" more reds. It was good to see fish and enjoyed the morning. Surprised that were not many more people out there.

Todd got your email, posting my version of the photos to see if they are clearer.

I think myfishingpictures.com is better. Will have to switch now that it is back up and running.

Yours are much better.
