Post by John g »

I have 2 ride 135s on the way and I need some suggestions on mounting them on my xterra. Looking to spend under 200. Please help.

Anything on the roof of the Xterra already? Do you have a trailer hitch?
Over every mountain there is a path, although it may not be seen from the valley

I have the stock roof loading bars. I can fit one up there fine but 2 is going to be pushing it. I do have a hitch but loking for roof rack. Or a great idea.

My buddy who has an Explorer uses something like this J rack when carrying 2 kayaks on top. One goes flat like you normally strap it in, and the other in the J rack next to it. There are quite a few companies making these type of racks. This is the cheapest I found with a quick Google search.

I have an Xterra & thought that if I ever carried 2 kayaks I would just tie down 2 long 2x4's across the top to give me the width that I would need. Then run my tie down straps over the kayaks and under the rack. That would hold everything in place.
