Atlas V Launch Photos 7/19

Post by Dustin »

These were shot last Friday (7/19) from a distance of about 1.5 miles. 70-300 VR. The cloud base was really low at launch, so the rocket was gone from view in less than 10 s.

Very Good. Were you using a tripod?

No tripod. I was braced against my truck.

Next Atlas launch is at 3 am on Sept. 18. Definitely going to shoot that one.

you will love the night launch. I shot the last night Space Shuttle launch. It was amazing.

very cool. I got to see a shuttle night launch about 15 years ago from a park across the river. I will never forget the eerie sort of daylight the rockets made. It was surreal.
