For you Orchid lovers.

Post by Heywood »

I spent a few minutes out at Circle B Ranch out near Auburndale with my boss, who is a big Orchid nut. He gave me a little lesson on what to look for when looking for the native wild Orchids. He also has a green house full of different kinds. I cant recall all the names, but I will update this when I get them. Enjoy.

Some of these did not come out quite the way I hope, I was shooting my big lens, 70-300mm VR.

I could care less, it is DaveR you need to worry about. Misspelling the name of his beloved plants just might put him over the edge.

Speaking of Orchids, I got a tour of a guys $10,000,000 condo and he has Orchids all over the place. He only stays there 2 weeks out of the year and someone comes in 2 times a week to maintain them.

Nice pics Bill.

They are native and I have seen them in the wild in Manatee and Hardee and Lee Counties. I believe you can get these at Orchid Mania near Myakka City.
