The developers are pushing for "A marina that could handle 100-foot boats, ripping out 20 to 40 acres of mangrove forests and dredging a canal through seagrass are all part of the new plans along Sarasota Bay and El Conquistador Parkway."

That would suck.

There is a Facebook page about this with a lot of info and news reports. If you go there, "Like" the page, please.

https://www.facebook.com/SaveTheManatee ... ne?fref=ts" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

There are also two petitions that could use your help

http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/save ... coastline/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

https://www.change.org/petitions/manate ... ve-removal" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

There's a lot of money pushing the development. The only thing that can stop it is a lot of voices.
