Rod Building Supplies

Post by rolle2259 »

Can anyone recommend a place in the Tampa area for rod building supplies. Mud hole is a pretty good drive and shipping on rod blanks is pretty high.

Thanks

Betts Fishing Center in Largo has some stuff, although there stock is not near as big as Mud Hole's. They carry supplies for conventional rods (spinning and casting). I don't think they carry anything for fly rods.

Mud Hole is probably your best bet. Shipping is not that bad if you buy the blank with all the components. If you are going to buy over the internet anyway, there are a number of other suppliers. Go to

www.rodbuilding.org

and check out their sponsors.

If you goto Betts join the Master Anglers Club -- you get 20% off rod building and a few other things in the store.
