New Gear

Post by John »

Just bought the Sage Xi3 8wt, is it wrong to be in love with a fly rod?

This thing is amazing.

The spinning rods have been put away

I've heard that before. Most recently from my long lining fishing companion this morning!
Congrats mate. A fine addition to the arsenal.

It's only wrong if the relationship has been consummated. I believe that is illegal in many Southern states including FL.

Only two sessions with it so far and no hooks up yet.
Tough leaving the spinning gear behind

3rd time out was a charm, 28" Red on a tan shrimp gurgler pattern.

Rod handled it well, and I loved every second of it, the affair continues

Indeed Rik, and that rush was priceless, he charged that fly like he was in a bar fight
