Stripping Basket?

Post by Deek »

Just wondering about opinions on use or no use of a stripping basket while wading?

I use one. I made it from a rubbermaid tub, bungee chord and weed whacker monofilament. I dislike shooting line when it is on the water. The surface tension of the water is, in my opinion, enough to rob you of some distance.

Like Chis, I use a stripping basket when I am wading or casting from the beach. The one I use is made from a plastic basin they give patients in the hospital. It has two web belt loop attached for a wader belt and large screw on electrical connectors glued to the bottom to keep the line from tangling.

While wading, it keeps the line off the water and while walking the beach it keeps it out of the sand and ready to cast.

Yup, I use one for wading, I have the shop bought basin type.

I have a buddy who has the collapsible mesh type, that's real nice.
