All it took was a little budgeting, bonus at work, a tax return, and the sale of my old Xi2. I finally have my new 8wt setup. I demoted my Tibor light "backcountry" to my bamboo 7wt and shed an ounce and a half by switching to a Bauer MSL4. To max out backing capacity I lined it with Jerry Brown hollow line 1 #40. Got a new Rio bonefish free with the reel and a Rio tarpon for my 12wt for free with the rod, kind of like knocking $160 off the price...
Is all of this absolutely necessary? Yes
Cheers!
