Walt's big day

Post by Walt_Trident13 »

OK, I'll play along....since I finally have a decent story to tell. 15 of us launch off the beach at 6am. By 6:15 we see tarpon rolling..but we are all having a hellava time catching bait. At 10:30, I hook up...with a 6' black tip. Hit record on the GoPro and forget to hit stop. By 11:00am, said GoPro starts to beep, telling me I'm out of battery juice. I switch to my spare battery. 11:01am: realize my spare battery isn't charged. 11:02am, swear under my breath knowing that now I'll hook up with my first tarpon and have no proof because most of the guys had already headed to the beach and no one will be able to take my picture. 11:20am: decide I've had enough give it a couple more minutes. 11:30am: This happens.

and 15 minutes later I get my first tarpon to the kayak for a clean release.

I was quite lucky a couple hardcore guys were still out and on the radio to hear my call. IF not for them, I'd only have my word.

Nice catch Walt.

Looks like you need a name change. That's not a Trident you're paddling these days.
Over every mountain there is a path, although it may not be seen from the valley

Thanks Rik.
You're actually the first to notice my name. It's been over a year since I switched over to my Native Propel.
