Are you a googan?

Many boaters are unaware that in fact yes they are googans. For the sake of other anglers and humanity please read the following and take appropriate measures not to be labeled as a googan.

Are you a googan? Take this personality test and find out

- do you find people yelling obscenities at you or you yelling at them on most of your fishing trips
- do you label water as "my spot"
- when you find other people in a fore mentioned "my spot" do you still try and squeeze in when you know there's no room
- do your passengers looked away/down/into space when you're near other boats (aka. "the look of shame")
- when you see any craft drifting and you see fish do you skip in front of them to get in the same drift line
- have you had sinkers or top water plugs cast by someone else within 5' of your boat multiple times
- do you play your music so loud that all the birds have flown away
- have you considered cheating in a charity fishing tournament; worse yet have you cheated
- when you see someone on fish is your first though "Let's go over there" vs. "Wonder what he's using/doing right?"

There is help. Googans anonymous is a group to help googans and other society misfits by helping identify these traits and how to proactively deal with them. Things like:

- cutting in line - why society has queues
- traffic laws and abiding by them
- why do you feel the need to take more than you need
- the first signs of being a googan - yelling in your car, cutting people off, trolling on the internet
- avoiding invading personal space
- why you stopped doing what you know is right; you're mom didn't hold you enough, you were dropped on your head as a baby and other excuses you're making for being a misfit/googan
- alcohol/"liquid courage" - the googan amplifier

If you or someone you know has these traits please get help. If you don't get help at Googans Anonymous, please get help somewhere. Don't be a googan; think of the children.
