camping and fishing

Post by Groupdog »

Besides fort desoto, where are some other spots around the state where one could camp and paddle fish in the same spot. By that i mean basically paddle away from your campsite. oh yea saltwater not freshwater
Woah woah woah ... Guys.

Most of the State Parks have some sort of body of water that you can kayak/fish on. I have been to the Hillsborough River, the Alafia River and the Myakka River state parks and have enjoyed them all.

There are several islands on the south shore of Tampa bay, around the entrance to Magill Bay and westward toward Rattlesnake. They are in close proximaty to good fishing, but a ways from a good launch site. You have good access to this spot from the south skyway rest area, but I don't know it you can park there over night (or want to).
