Re: Flourocarbon vs. Monofilament fly leaders

Hard is used for fly leaders, soft is used in snoopy poles.

Re: Flourocarbon vs. Monofilament fly leaders

Write down the date. I agree with Evan!

Mono for topwater, flouro for most of the rest. I like rio, seaguar, and yozuri in no particular order. Each has an application. I have found many of the cheaper ones suck, you definitely get what you pay for.

Re: college + kayaking = scholarship??

If he gets into MIT find a way to make that work. Congrats to him for even applying! The rest of the schools listed all fall into a tier well below. I do not believe there is any way a high school senior knows what to do with the rest of their life. If he is dead set on engineering I would recommend...

Looks like a good day to have a paddle in your paddle craft.

Haha! The place where you donate all of your non-fly gear is at the end of a long road. At the end of that road is where the journey truly begins. I believe you are on the right road.

Re: Your bucket list

That trip cost me 2 tanks of gas for my truck, half a tank for the boat, one bottle of rum, $180 in cash for 3 nights in the room, and one boat scrubbing. You do not have to spend a bunch of money to fish over there. If you want to start thinking about the details get in touch. That is the first step.

Re: Your bucket list

Daver. This is the only fishing trip on that list I keep of things to do one day. A few years ago I almost took a job guiding with the outfitter who made the following video. I would have been posted in Mozambique on the Zambezi River guiding tiger fish to start. Season 2 or 3 would have found me on...

One of the last birthdays the Mayans wrote down on their calendar. I believe he taught them how to paddle fish. Happy Birthday Rik!
