Re: Kayak Transport Question

Rik is spot on....I noticed the same. Big hint with strapping things to your car/truck is put rags under the places touching the paint/trim. I happen to prefer the micro fiber rags but you need something. If it can work it will and if it touches paint it will be primer or metal when you get where yo...

Re: Dec 26th trip for south biscayne bay

Didnt make it out because of the weather (windy) but did end up going today (Dec 29th) and just tore up the jacks. Had a friend in my canoe on this trip and between us we caught over 100 fish. We caught about the same number of fish. I had over 6 snappers, over 6 very large ladyfish, one lizard fish...

Re: First Redfish in 22-25 years.

Thanks and yea over 20 years is way too long but in my defense this is the first year with a boat of my own of any type. Also where I am located is right between redfish areas. North 100+miles are redfish and South of me 100+ miles is redfish but here in the Broward/Miami area it is not happening. I...

Re: Dec 26th trip for south biscayne bay

I saw that and thanks. Being my first trip down any help is good. Good to know about the snappers in the canals though for when I bring my kids down. 9yr old and a 5 yr old + snapper is a good day.

Well if you can get it on your car/truck we will have people who can help you get it off and back on. If not when you get your trailer let me know we do so fishing just about every week.

Re: New fishing rod/reel help.

Well the decision was somewhat made for me so this is what I ended up with. Penn Battle 2000 series reel with a Stellar Lite ML 7' rod (SG216ISM). Going to be using 10lb PowerPro Superslick braid. Keep you all updated on how it works out. I love the feel (in the store) but we will see how it preform...

Re: Jacks are back

They have been down here in Biscayne Bay this year very thick at times. First we went through the 1-1 1/2 lb ones that were so thick it was hard to get your bait to a trout. Then they were gone and you would get a few here or there. Then it was the tiny guys, 4-8" long. Now it is mixed with all...

Re: Zara Spook Jr.

For the Badonk lures the website linked above now does charge shipping. For one lure (did a test) and shipped to South Florida it was $6.00. But when I ordered 20 of them the shipping was free. So I started testing and it seems that 13 of these lures is $6.00 shipping but 14 is free shipping. Most l...

Re: Rod Advice??

For top water the best rod I have used so far is this one: Stellar Lite SG816ISM. It is a bit heavy for light jigs but for my top water it has been perfect. I have caught big fish and had no worries about it's backbone. http://www.seastriker.com/starrods/styled-2/page2.html" onclick="windo...

Re: New fishing rod/reel help.

I would be very interested in that review BigFly. I am in no hurry, probably wont get the new rod/reel for a month or so anyways. Christmas has drained the pocket near dry. On paper that looks like a nice reel. Went to BPS today and was not impressed by the Quantum Blu reel. Felt a bit sloppy new. I...

Looking for a reel I found this guy's review....

"If I could give it zero stars I would. I received the reel as a gift. On the second flip out from the boat ( I was river jigging for walleye) the reel broke right where the foot connects to the body. The bail was open so the reel went straight to the bottom. I put the rod down and started to h...
