Yeah that was 1 hour and 45 minutes (remember accidentally hooked that one, 12 lb mono main line), I had the swivel that the leader was tied to reeled all the way up to the eye of the rod and the fish was still slowly towing me, I cut the leader as close to the fish as I could reach.

Yeah new leader for each fish, the leader is either wearing through at the hook (I use a loop knot and the knot is still tied when i get the line back), or 2-3" above the hook.

I think I am the only one in florida that fishes out of one of the Key Largo, but I really like it.

I will typically get out and wade when the fish I have hooked is big enough to pull me clear across the other side of the bay and out to sea. I can get more leverage on him by standing in the sand, or when i am stalking Reds in the Mosquito.

Was the yak in that bad of condition that you couldnt loan/give/sell it to someone else to use?
