Not really a paddle fishing post but it has to do with paddling. Since I've been unemployed I've been swimming a lot and decided to train for the Hurricane man 2.4 mile open water swim. It started at 7:30 this morning at St. Pete Beach and went south along the beach 2.4 miles and finished at the Hur...

For the beach I use a chug bug. It makes some noise. As far as color, whatever will contrast with the color of the sky the most.

I went out at sunrise and nothing was feeding. Maybe I should have gone out later. Glad to see you got on some snook Geoff.

I usually use pin fish if I'm going to use live bait. I put them in a bait bucket in the kayak while I'm paddling and put the bucket in the water and refresh them when I'm not paddling. Pin fish seem to last a while.

I use spider wire because it is the least expensive and IMO it works as well as the rest.
