Re: AMI 05/2015
My son went to UCF and fished the Lagoon a lot.. he started with a jon boat and then later got a 12' old school dusk skiff with poling platform and jack plate.... used to launch at a place called BioLab road and always caught Reds. But if your son has kayak he can launch many places... but if he wad...

Re: Has anyone built a wooden fishing kayak/canoe?
Not doen it myself, if I could afford it I'd sign up for one of the classes that are offered and build one onsite. Hell I can't even spell, but if I had a woodshop... Here is another option.. Chesapeake Light Craft , they offer plans, kits, and classes with some nice stuff. I've seen pix of their SU...

Snook combat at its best... be careful that could be a quick way to end up with a trebble in the fisherman.

Re: Sarasota, Long Boat Key Guides ?
Any further updates from locals in the Sarasota Bay area.. time to make my reservation... If any of you guys in the area had a choice of hiring a guide for the day in that area... seems like I have a couple choices.. inshore or passes and offshore/outside. Whats in that big azzz bay, and whats nears...

Re: RIGGED KAYAKS/CANOES - SHOW US WHAT YOU GOT!
I carry a bilge sponge in the canoe, when I get back to a launch I take my time and sponge off the drips or an water remaining, flip bottom side up and let the sun do its thing while loading the car, any water that may have been remaining dries up pretty quickly in the south Florida Sun... Lifting a...

Re: Brandon FL Bass Pro
You'll be sorry when it happens, first it will be a great place to visit but expensive cause you'll buy lots of new cool stuff most of which you can do without, then slowly most if not all the Mom & Pops bait and tackle shops will shut down, then you'll get very tired of going there and not bein...

Re: Neighborhood Ponds
Nice, I used to fish fresh water all the time before getting into paddling.. neighorhood ponds are great around here especially older ones.. say 20 years ago almost all the ponds are somehow connected to the tri-county area drainage canal systems and could hold anything form minnows and tad-poles to...

Re: If you can HEAR thunder.....
When you hear Thunder it's to late, seek shelter fast... most people struk and injured/killed by a lightning strike are hit from a bolt 20 miles away or farther.. and the thunder actually comes long time after the actual strike hits the grounded object, or what ever object is between the source and ...

It would really not be that hard to engineer/design, DIY, a protable version of the lights we use for shrimping... using bright led's and powered by a small (motorcycle) sized 12v battery. Years ago we, a buddy and myself, built some shrimp lites to augment the halogen, (q-beam), lites with 4' fluro...

Unfortunately the fight really did suck.. and it sure sounds like a scam after the fact... but I would think that if Pakio really did have a shoulder injury or hand injury.. Mayweather should have beat the crap out of him but that did not happen either... Looking for fishing info for a Sept. vacatio...

Thanks for that reply, a bit late but very helpful. Yes there were professional photographers, 2 plus a video-grapher and 400 guest with phone cameras and a multitude of point and shoots. We ened up getting a Cannon Sx400 ( I think), its like 16mp with 30x optical zoom.. worked out well, bought an 8...

Nice looking Bote.. I like the Ahab and have a friend who has one. How much difference did you find in the Ahab vs. the Rackham, and did you test paddle the HD also ?
