The speaker scheduled for the next BACK mtg, Brent Gaskill just got one and will likely be talking about it during his presentation. He might be able to give those interested some insight.

I know some mullet guys that are just trying to make an honest buck, and they do, but those aren't ones who ignore the law or common courtesy. They are the ones who idle up behind you and ask if you've seen any big schools, then quietly go on their way. I saw one today that I've seen before, he idle...

Call anyway and give the FWC the info. They may not be able to do anything about this incident, but it may provide some information they need on another, or at least alert them to these guys. Often times just this type of info will give them a reason to stop them and check them out. They may be carr...

Glad you are out getting your butt wet Larry. You'll have lots of fun scouting new areas. I'd like to get up that way, if you feel like guiding. Hope you are well and enjoying the changes.

If I am catching snook, I rarely think about trout. But since you raised the issue, my biggest trout, those over 20" have been nearly exclusively caught on top water. And, it seems, the bigger ones hang in shallow water.

I have been using these hooks about a year. I can echo the comments that they retain their point and I found the weight (I typically use 1/16) performs well in weeds, mangroves and even oyster shells. This is about the only weighted weedless hook I use anymore. The wide gap hook allows effective use...

This is an important issue to all recreational fishermen. Read about the issue here, this page has a link to the Interim Report. A big problem is the fact that the Task Force (thus far), makes no distinction between commercial and recreational fishing. http://www.joincca.org/media%20room/Federal%20...

We used Gateway North Outfitters, Lucas and Nichole are good folks and they always treat us well. This was our seventh trip. Grant Lake is a good smallmouth destination, but they have others as well. They are located north of Emo, Ontario, about an hour north of the border crossing at International ...

Another good Smallmouth trip

Did the annual trek to the wilds of Ontario, looking for smallmouth in September. The fish cooperated, most were caught on topwater plugs, which was particularly enjoyable. On one day I caught 32 all on surface plugs. Quite a few northerns but they were not targeted. No muskies. 30-40 bass per day f...

I know you said that you and your Dad have not had the best relationship, but you also said he has lived with you for the past three years and continues in the most difficult period of his life. Sounds to me like you have gone a long, long way towards mending whatever fractures there were. I am conf...

Can't speak for the other models mentioned, but I have six of the Saharas in three different sizes. My favorite is the 2500 on a 7' St. Croix medium fast rod. The new model Sahara, though it no longer comes with a spare spool, is of a new design and a new spool design that seems to handle braid much...

I suppose it is just that time of year.........

water temp was about 85 and the reds were still lying in about a foot of water today at 11 AM. Got one about 24" and it only took two short runs, then seemed to just give up. She looked healthy, but her fight was so lethargic I just twisted out the barbless hook while she was boatside, never to...
