For a long time done by hand cause those stupid tools are stupid. However, I started to run into problems with roughness of fingers catching thread. Recently bought a better quality whip finish tool and so far its been good.

I'm gonna tie more like the first one w/ the frog legs but, w/ a weedguard. The weedguard will help the frog legs from fouling up on the hook.
