I can assure you work would already be a thing of the past. Have little to do that I couldn't pay someone else to take care of. I'd spend alot of time doing things I enjoy and fishing is pretty high on the "things I enjoy" list.

I've seen small ones tail with mullet. At least that's what I think they were. Normally they'll hang with them picking up what the mullet kick up and/or picking off the small bait that gets within reach. Its a good time to throw hard baits or maybe a spoon.

TroutTracker and I went out Saturday morning and took advantage of some trout in a hole which became land-locked due to the low tides. All fish but a couple were between 20 and 22". I was surprised we didn't get bit by something other than trout. Guess they were smart enough to get out before t...

Six dollars for a spoon is way over the top and I for one wouldn't pay it. I think price as a poll question is like putting the carriage before the horse. Better questions would have to do with design such as shape or action in the water. Spoons are go-to baits for very few people. If you came up wi...

That was a good post about shortening grips. Its necessary for fishing from a kayak to have a shorter grip and many of us need it but I think your leading many people astray by suggesting the use of a hack-saw to cut their rod. That's the worst thing to use on fiberous material. It will tear the fib...

Rev I wouldn't worry to much about it. The sections are made to fit tight without a problem. Clean each section, put them together slightly off center then twist them down good and snug. You should be good to go.

On rare occasions when I do keep fish I try to clean them before leaving the water. Its not something I look forward to after going home, cleaning up and putting everything away. I'd suggest with all fish to cut the throat, fillet it, skin it and cut off the dark meat on the back. It's where the str...

Personally I think Reds aren't that tasty (the black drum is better) so it would definitely be the Snook. But then I'd have to clean it after a day on the water not to mention cook it, stink up the house and clean the mess. Now that I've had a chance to think about it I'd throw them both back and ca...

You might give thin gloves a try. Cut the fingers off or buy them that way.

Get yourself a mirr-o-lure, mullet colored sinking twitch bait. Remove the center hook and go for it. The key is not to put the fish to sleep by being afraid of working it to hard thinking your gonna scare them. Work the poop out of it with erratic twitches and slight pauses. They'll hit the twitch ...

I appreciate that response. I've heard the term many times but never asked what it meant.

Manually closing the bail is something my dad taught me to do as a kid. Its instinctive to close the bail and pull the line taunt prior to reeling.

Am I missing something? These so called wind knots many of you talk about, are you sure they're not because of a loose wrap on the spool improperly peeling off 3 or 4 wraps in a clump creating the tangle? The only time I get knots is due to loose wraps. I use twitch baits allot and have to pay close...

I've always prefered topwater but hate treble hooks and frankly don't see the need for all that extra hardware. I'll usually change them out to singles with the exception of mirrolure. They use a good, strong sharp hook so I've left them alone, until today. Today was a suspending twitch bait day. Af...

I prefer to be on the water early then wake em' up just before the sun comes up. Can't figure why I rarely catch anything at that time!
