Six dollars for a spoon is way over the top and I for one wouldn't pay it. I think price as a poll question is like putting the carriage before the horse. Better questions would have to do with design such as shape or action in the water. Spoons are go-to baits for very few people. If you came up wi...

That was a good post about shortening grips. Its necessary for fishing from a kayak to have a shorter grip and many of us need it but I think your leading many people astray by suggesting the use of a hack-saw to cut their rod. That's the worst thing to use on fiberous material. It will tear the fib...

On rare occasions when I do keep fish I try to clean them before leaving the water. Its not something I look forward to after going home, cleaning up and putting everything away. I'd suggest with all fish to cut the throat, fillet it, skin it and cut off the dark meat on the back. It's where the str...

Personally I think Reds aren't that tasty (the black drum is better) so it would definitely be the Snook. But then I'd have to clean it after a day on the water not to mention cook it, stink up the house and clean the mess. Now that I've had a chance to think about it I'd throw them both back and ca...

Get yourself a mirr-o-lure, mullet colored sinking twitch bait. Remove the center hook and go for it. The key is not to put the fish to sleep by being afraid of working it to hard thinking your gonna scare them. Work the poop out of it with erratic twitches and slight pauses. They'll hit the twitch ...

Am I missing something? These so called wind knots many of you talk about, are you sure they're not because of a loose wrap on the spool improperly peeling off 3 or 4 wraps in a clump creating the tangle? The only time I get knots is due to loose wraps. I use twitch baits allot and have to pay close...

I've always prefered topwater but hate treble hooks and frankly don't see the need for all that extra hardware. I'll usually change them out to singles with the exception of mirrolure. They use a good, strong sharp hook so I've left them alone, until today. Today was a suspending twitch bait day. Af...
