Are you building a fly rod or a spinning rod? A 4wt would be awfully light for either use in saltwater.

Not exactly on the point, but does anyone swap out treble hooks for single hooks? I don't particularly like hard lures anyway, but I HATE treble hooks. The are dangerous for both the fish and the fisherman.

Scott SAS 9' with a Scientific Angler Series 2 for my 8wt and a custom Rainshadow Excel 9' with a Redington GD for my 6wt.

Oh yeah, I did break down an get a couple of spinning rods. A Denali IM8 6'6" light rod with an Okuma AV30 reel and a Redbone medium heavy 7'6" with a Fin-Nor reel.
