Re: August - September recap lots of pics!

Believe it or not, I'm still in school. I might be the first ever full time student/commercial fishermen.

Re: August - September recap lots of pics!

No typos there, Bill. I will be stone crabbing and mullet fishing during roe season. Contrary to popular belief, not all commercial guys are so bad. Besides, there's good money to be made.

Watch out for me this winter time on your favorite redfish flats. :2ar15smilie:

August - September recap lots of pics!

Hey guys, it was another long summer for me working on the tarpon boats but as always an enjoyable one. With tarpon season finally winding down, I've been able to find time to get back into the kayak. I'll admit, I was a bit sluggish to jump back in the plastic sled, but since the beginning of Augus...

Re: Berkley Gulp Crab 4" for Tarpon

I've hooked them during hill tides on the Trigger X crab. Like the posts above me, if I was going to throw arti's at them, a baitbuster or tsunami swim bait would be on the top of my list.

Re: Plastic Welder

Just buy a heat gun, it will save you some money and is all that is necessary. The kayak shop I work at does patch work all the time on boats. You simply need a heat gun, a piece of plastic, a pair of pliers and a flat head screw driver with a lot of surface area on it. Hold the piece of plastic wit...

Re: poll 20# or 30# leader for snook

I rarely specifically target snook but if I think there is a possibility of catching one I will use at least 30# on all my hard plastic/plug baits and 20# on my soft plastics. My theory is that soft plastics are more of a finesse bait, giving the fish longer to look at your bait thus requiring a lig...

Re: Kings on the Beach

I was in a boat but we got 16 the other day, only 1 today... not sure where the fish moved, but definitely not where I we found 'em the day before. I was off Pinellas County beaches.

Should be a good year.. the shrimp trawlers were out on the flats around Ft D every night during this past full moon. Seen quite a few as well at night.

Re: No Freeze Kill

They were no where near the power plant. The fish were on the southern most tip of Weedon Island from Christmas Pass south. The real culprit here is the mild winter we've been having. Warmer water temps have fooled the fish into staying in a fall or spring like pattern. Instead of vacating to their ...

Re: No Freeze Kill

There were dead snook at Weedon Island after the freeze here in Tampa Bay. Not a lot, but from the report I had somewhere around 30+ fish were counted dead.

Long time no report

Hey guys, been a while since I've posted a report. I've been doing most of my posting on facebook, so for those of you who are my friends there most of this is probably old news, but since Todd asked here goes.. The mild weather we've had (up until yesterday) has been great for the fishing. My clien...
