Yes, the second photo is a Brown. All the fish were between 10 and 16", but really Fat. More Rainbows, but a couple Browns ..... no Cutthroats wanted to join in the fun that day ..... oh well there will be another chance this week. Walked out this morning for Coffee and had another Eagle Fly-By...

Would have been a little low for the Kayak, no Generation from the Dam. Water flow was about 50cfs. Could be d...

Re: Question about a 6 weight rod

More and more people seem to be going to the 6wt for Saltwater, but it is a good Largemouth Bass size of Rod. I use a 6wt for almost all of my Saltwater, and at 8'6" it would be nice under trees and will still throw bigger flies. Musky fisher folk use 10wt exclusively, but are throwing "ha...

Alas, I am supposed to be in Arkansas, visiting family, before heading to Delaware, work thing. Maybe I'll get lucky and be able to post a "off site" Tourney Report!
Good Luck to all!

Re: Flourocarbon vs. Monofilament fly leaders

I use Tapered Mono for leaders, with Flouro Tippets. Fluorocarbon is so much more abrasion resistant, and I have a Ladyfish/Trout habit. If Leader or Tippet gets short I replace as needed. I can make a leader last a long time that way. Of course before I change the Leader there may be two/three size...

Re: Flamingo

Coot Bay Pond is a No Fishing Zone, and very shallow, once you are into Coot Bay fishing is allowed.

Coot Bay Pond is more a bird sanctuary, but has a launch area next to the main road.

Re: Flamingo

Camground launches are a short walk from parking, Marina launch has plenty of parking but boat traffic (Snake Bight is a poling zone with channels), Coot Bay pond (1/2 mile mangrove trail leading into Coot Bay) and Hells Bay Trail (mangrove trail to Lard Can) are side of the road parking (they seem ...

Re: wading boots/shoes??

I went "Old School" with Converse High Tops, rinse with Fresh water at the end of each day to prevent rusting. While they are not the best or cheapest option, they do make me "Run Faster and Jump Higher!" Seems to self clean the muck too, but have to wear socks with them as some ...

Guess I should have asked around about winter time in Flamingo, but alas Work (that four letter word) will have me in Delaware for most of the Spring, Summer and Fall!

No worries, great Solunar times for the weekend even if the wind is blowing!
