Scalloping success
So I took a recommendation and booked a trip with Capt. Marrio. http://www.talltaleschartersfl.com/#" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;! First attempt was rained out a couple of weeks ago but yesterday on the second try we had a bonanza of a day. We met Marrio at 8:30 at Pete's...

To me this looks like the regular system of extortion by developers used to get the county to buy the land for the good of the community.

Re: Scalloping
Went up Wed. night and had a guide for Thurs. AM. We got rained out but rescheduled in a couple weeks. The guide I got is Mario Costello. Really fun guy for the time we spent with him deciding if storms would pass or not.

Re: Scalloping
The best bet is Homosassa or Crystal River. The scallops are very plentiful in that area. Finding a place to stay the night now might be tough and it is pretty much only accessible by boat since it is a very very long paddle down the river and out into the Gulf flats to get to where the scallops ar...

Re: Scalloping
I am looking for the same thing as well as any decent places to stay a night or two. Also I have time off in the first couple of weeks in August. Will the scallops be played out by then?

Re: Snook Opening
This year the FWC has seen little resistance to opening it up in September and I believe they have made up their minds at this point to do so. This game has been used by the FWC in the past. Does anyone else remember about ten years ago when the dog jumping and chainsaw series asked for and was gra...

Re: Snook Opening
I am on the fence on this. I have seen and caught plenty of snook this year. Would I like to keep a few for the table absolutely! There are many out there that are lobbying hard to keep it closed. However when I see the so called snook foundation advocating the opening I tend to think it should be c...

Re: Are you EFFING Kidding EFFING ME!
To top it all off, the licenses used to be issued by a Florida company (anyone remember Weedy?) but then they gave it to an out of state company so all the profits from selling those licenses leaves the state. Plus, as expected, the handling and shipping fees went up when it went out of state. Yep ...

Re: Tuesday Morning Goat Rodeo
Ok so I counted like 34 people in this video. How much is this "study" costing? Who is paying for it? If it is tax dollars then it is me. If it is the BP settlement then it is me in higher gas prices.
