Re: Primitive "survivalist" camping location advice needed

Even if you were doing this during squirrel and dove season you cannot use a pellet rifle or slingshot to hunt them, has to be a shotgun or bow for dove, shotgun rifle pistol or bow for squirrel. Squirrel hunting may sound easy but its not like being in the park. Wild squirrels are tricky to kill wi...

"will immerse the body of their love ones in the Ganges River to be purified after death, lure the sharks into its shallow waters where it eats the corpses"

I guess its a good thing that I am not a corpse then :thumbright:

Re: Shark In Tampa Bay REDO

It was a bull shark.

We were fishing on the bay side of the Skyway Bridge. There were dozens of 3'-5' sharks circling us the enitre time we were dealing with the big shark. Some got as close as 15 ft before turning. It was a fun day though.

Shark In Tampa Bay REDO

I made the drive all the way over to the Tampa Bay to try and catch some trout, reds, macks, whatever was biting. I brought a buddy from work that had never been paddle fishing before. We had a great morning, limiting out on 18"-20" trout in an hour, and catching a bunch of macks and lady ...

Re: Red Alert on the Space Coast

When I wanna catch reds i usually launch at Beacon 42, Bio Lab, or Peacocks Pockets, even sometimes I launch at WSEG and paddle to the Pole Zone.

Check the destinations posts for the east coast there are some good spots on there

Re: Shark ID

I havent caught anything big, but I was only using dead mullet for bait on a realtively light (for shark) spinning rod, I am told to catch big sharks where i was you have to use live bait due to the high population of smaller sharks. I also only fished for about 2 hours on a low incoming tide.

Re: Shark ID

Looks like a sandbar shark to me. http://bit.ly/aLuxO8 Yeah I thought they were sandbars myself the day we caught them, but side by side photo comparison reveals the tall dorsal fin (the only way to discern a sandbar from the others) was absent on my sharks. How sure are you guys on the blacknose, ...

Shark ID

Caught a bunch of these from the surf Anybody know what they are? They are not Lemons, they are not blacktips, they are not spinners, and they are not sandbar sharks. http://i563.photobucket.com/albums/ss71/Devodud/Lachneyshk1.jpg http://i563.photobucket.com/albums/ss71/Devodud/LachneyShark2.jpg

Re: Beach Sharkin' 08/19/2010

No they are not lemons, the second dorsal isn't big enough. Notice the large second dorsal in these photo's http://www.flmnh.ufl.edu/fish/Education/sharkkey/lemonshark.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; I think it was this kind of shark, check out the very bottom photo htt...
