Re: Flamingo in April
I think we have decided to camp at Flamingo and simply paddle out from there each day, as opposed to bringing a boat and shuttle out to a remote location, for this first time anyway. Thanks for all of the help with this trip. I certainly appreciate it, and you have made it a lot easier on me and bro...

Re: Insect Reppelent and Plastic parts
Great advice rik. I even heard from a buddy today that he has had bugs go up his sleeves where the button is on the cuff.

Re: Insect Reppelent and Plastic parts
So, should I place the thrermacell in the front of the boat so the cloud of repellent washes over me as I paddle, or should I place it behind me on the seat?

Re: Insect Reppelent and Plastic parts
Thanks for the help. I cannot afford to lose a $100 fly line, that is why I am asking.

Insect Reppelent and Plastic parts
I am trying to find the best bug juice to use in the glades, but what I am reading is that DEET is terrible on plastic parts. Have any of you guys had issues with deet and your kayak, or even on your fly line or other plastics?
Thanks
Thanks

New Moon Fishing
It looks like I am going to be in the Flamingo area for a new moon in April. How should the fishing be under a new moon? I know fishing can be tough the couple of days after a full moon, but have not heard anything about a new moon. Any info is appreciated.

Re: Bait question
Thanks perch I am seriously trying to pack as light as possible with just a small waist pack for a tackle bag to keep in the kayak. I do not want to be fumbling through stuff. A soft side cooler in the back for drinks and snacks and the waist pack for tackle should be about it during the day except ...

Re: Bait question
Thanks Perch. I am planning to bring some zonkers in a few colors; white, chartruse, black, and purple. I will also bring some seaducers in white with different color collars, a few crab patterns as well. I will be heading to Bass Pro to get my soft baits a few weeks before I head down. Right now I ...

Re: Bait question
really no replies after more than 30 views?
I did not realize I was asking for any secrets. I am just trying to get a tackle bag together to make the trip a little better. if I was able to fish this more than once a lifetime I would figure it out myself.

Re: size question
Understood, makes great sense. I do not know what to really expect so flexibility is paramount as far as I am concerned.
