Just a hell of a nice fish there, Cordell. Congrats -- you are quickly getting those reds "wired" down there ......
What's happening with bonefish -- weather been too cold for them to show?

NailBiters
I know the subject of spoon flies came up in an earlier post ... can't remember if I posted this before, but is anyone else using fake fingernails instead of mylar for the bodies? I do, and it works great for spoon flies!! I call them NailBiters .... Get fake fingernails from the Dollar Store (50-10...

I'm using medium bead-chain (not sure what the weight is). I like flies that sink slowly for the most part, not ones that drop immeadiately to the bottom. I used the ginger color, actually ..... Yup, the over-wrap of v-rib or mono would protect the threads .... it does add a little more weight to an...

Yup, just exposed thread. One time I wrapped a single strand of copper flashabou over the black thread to get a stripe effect (pretty!) I don't worry too much about the thread breaking. I'm not fishing on hard bottom or oyster; I'm mostly over grass and sand .... Finally got these flies in front of ...

"Bunny Charlie"
Well, the real name of the fly is a Bahamas Special, but that just doesn't feel right to me, so I call it a Bunny Charlie. Made for big bones, but I think it will be a hit with the redfish this winter. Easy tie ..... just tie in Sili legs and flash at tail, wrap (black) thread almost to hook eye, ti...

Monkey and AP in a tarpon hotspot ...
Blatent fish-porn from Monkey's boat -- we went 5 for 7 on Saturday, with Monkey hooking an estimated 60lber in 2' of water that exploded twice out of the water in spectacular jumps and ran 100yds off the reel before throwing the hook ... still, the ones we landed were real-fun sized ... Enjoy ... h...

Dunfly: yes, Matuka-style. Top color tied in at end of hook for tail. Palmer cross-strip (bottom color) to hook eye. I had some trouble with the volume of (cross-cut) hair on top, so I trim it down and push the rest to the sides before bringing the top color over and secure it at the eye .... Make s...

Bi-Colored Bunny Fly
I love rabbit as a material to tie with, and how it performs in the water. My go-to fly has been an all-white rabbit-strip fly -- so simple to tie with just regular rabbit and cross-cut rabbit. Finished fly looks like this ... http://inlinethumb05.webshots.com/45444/2181294190049956418S500x500Q85.jp...
