Re: Sabalo 2500 vs....
I agree with ChrisR on the Stradics. I have one FI, two FJ's and one CI all of which have been excellent reels. They have the best drag I've seen, and are crazy smooth. The FJ in that size would be a few more bucks than your target price. While I love them, mine do not get anywhere near the use that...

Re: Polar Bear Coolers Special
We'll I really only need one of those babies so it looks like I need someone to go in on this with me. I will front the order and we split the cost. If anyone is interested IM me. Plan B would be to have Paddle-Fishings.com run a group order. Orders and checks up front. All shipped to one location ...

Re: Stradic Ci4+ ???
I have been fishing a Ci4 since last year. I have it loaded with PP slick 8 15lb and mounted on a TFO signature series 7 1/2' M/L rod. This has been an awesome combination for me. It will cast a mile and has a strong yet very smooth drag. I have two Stradic FJ's and one FI as well, but the CI4 has b...

Re: Saturday Morning Sarasota Bay Was Like A Box of Chocloat
Great post and pictures. I only get to make a few trips a year flats fishing now that I'm land locked in Atlanta. Local friends don't get why I always want to head south and do some saltwater fishing. They point out all of the lakes with in an hour or so. For me one of the coolest things about fishi...

Great Trip to AMI this past week
http://s1284.photobucket.com/user/fishshooter99/media/20131011_073737_zpsf8d6c6ea.jpg.html I had a couple of fishing partners one morning in Palma Sola Bay. Two dolphins showed up absolutely destroying the mullet. Slowed fishing for a bit, but they were fun to watch. I'm not sure if you can see the...

Re: Steer Creek
I had a little redemption today. Went back to the same place, launched at sunrise, caught three reds and a jack and was back at the launch site by 10:00. Didn't even leave my stuff behind this time. As far as.photoshoped mangroves......I will confirm there were some mangroves somewherenin the vacini...

Steer Creek
Yesterday I had the opportunity to fish a place that I suspect has been fished by many but admitted by few. The ill fated voyage began just before daylight. A friend and I were astonished by the insane amount of bait fish that were being blown up everywhere in the vacinity. First cast of the day pro...

Re: 20130928 - Southside Tampa
Now that Wonderboy is a Gator it's a hoot - he texted me the other day "Why...why...for the love of God why did we go for 2 points after the TD?" Being a Gator fan I'm with Wonderboy! It is funny to me that the Gators actually do have a defense in a year when most of the SEC doesn't, yet ...

Re: 20130928 - Southside Tampa
Great pictures as usual JB. I'm diggin' your buddies Mickey Mouse hat.
As far as the lack of defense in the SEC this year, it feels like some Star Trekian alternate universe where the SEC has traded places with the old (all offense) Big 12 teams of a few years ago. Crazy.

Re: Rods & Reels..What are your favorites and why??
I mainly use: Stradics, though occasionally still brake out the old Penns. I have a TFO spinning rod that I have been very happy with. I will say that they are stiffer than advertised, a med/lt is more like a Med in other brands. Med more like MH. I'm also very fond a Shimano Teramar rods as well as...

Re: Best Lures for October
Thanks for the input. That is pretty much my standard set of tools for Spring through Summer(with the exception of the afformentioned spoon issues). I've never tried JB's lure trailing a paddle tail but it looks like something fun to play with. I can imagine a double hook up would be insane.

Re: Best Lures for October
I appreciate the info guys. Over the years I have had good luck with certain top waters, quite a few jerk baits, and numerous shades of DOA and Gulp shrimp. The one "goto" that has never produced for me is the good old gold spoon. I have never claimed to be the sharpest tool in the shed bu...
