Re: Paddle In / Swap Meet **Date TBD - Fort Desoto**
I agree with most of what MarkR said. I learned so much from this forum and it's members. I say we give this paddle-in another try. Pick a date farther out and lets give this time to percolate. I think a notice about this on the PF Facebook page would also help to spread the word.

Not sure what you mean by the "2 side by side rear wheel"MikeM wrote:That did work well for sure. Have you considered trying the 2 side by side rear wheel fix?

I think your problem is that you need to pair the smart phone with a smart phone holder.

Making It Easier To Load My Kayak On My Car - Video
As I get older the process of getting my 75 pound kayak on top of my car roof rack becomes more of an issue. I just added a new grab bar to my Native Slayer 14.5 to make it easier to load. This short video shows how it works. Okay I will admit it I am also enjoying playing with my new GoPro camera. ...

Dolphins on Sarasota Bay
I went fishing on the west side of Sarasota Bay on Monday. It was a great day. There wasn't a breath of air moving so the water was like glass. In addition there was some fog at times that made it really beautiful out there. I managed to catch a dozen or so trout, but that wasn't the highlight of th...

I was out in that area in a flats boat on Thursday. Managed to catch 10, but I had to work for them. Can't wait until that water temp comes up some.

Buttonwood. Was back up there yesterday in a flats boat and it was much, much slower. Like all places so much depends on water temp amd water movement.

Rainy Monday
Well the unreliable weather forecast got me again. The forecast said it was not supposed to rain until noon, but about 10 am this morning when I was a good mile from the launch down it came. This was also my fault since the sky looked something like this shortly after launching. https://lh6.googleus...

Re: Newbie to Kayaking
Welcome. I am guessing by the fact that you fished Philippe Park that you are in the Sarasota area when you are here. There are a number of good launches in our area. You can learn a great deal from the forum section on Sarasota launches. Good luck.

A Little Cow Creek Magic
Fishing has kind of sucked lately with the cold wind and cold water. Thought I would try and change my luck with a little Cow Creek magic. I know where there is a deep stretch that is protected from the wind and all that dark copper colored water should also help. About my 3rd cast into the deep dar...

Boy I hear you guys about the phone and text not working. I have found that mine doesn't seem to be working too good this time of year either. Seems to be much more reliable during tarpon season.

Re: Safety
Common sense is the foundation. When in doubt, don't go out. Almost two years ago I decided to improve my kayaking safety profile. Although up to that time I always had a PFD with me I almost never wore it. It was usually stuffed way up in the bow or out in the stern. Actually I only used it on days...
