What is the PVC thingy you made used for? If you look at the top you will see a bolt where the camera goes. The square is so I can move the camera angle up and down and it is glued together in a way that allows this swivel action but ensures it wont come apart and fall into the water with my camera...

My New Ride
Although I still love Wilderness Systems and will miss my T160, I made the mistake of trying out a hobie revolution and I have fallen in love with it. I picked up my new Revolution Friday and have been out as much as the weather will allow. I just have a few minor adjustments of rigging to make but ...

Getting Fresh with the new Kayak
I woke up Sun morning kind of late thinking that it would be raining still, but I was pleasantly surprised to find blue skies and a text from Kevin (mklbuck) saying he was on the water. Well he wasn't too far away from my place and I already had everything ready to go so i decided to join him. I sti...

Weird... but definitely dig the artwork... They don't look like they track well though with the flat bottom and I can't tell about the stability. The light weight material is probably fast though. As for the electric version... Why would they make a kayak that can leave prop scars? Doesn't look like...

Great camera work on an awesome subject. I have seen this happen a lot in Alabama on the river. One time we watched these huge bass, averaging around 4-5 lbs in the school, tearing up the water. Big lunkers jumping completely out of the water, but by the time we got there we only hooked up with some...

fly from the yak
So I have been getting more and more into the fly fishing from the yak lately and have noticed a couple issues. My main peeve is my fly line getting hung on every nook and cranny of my boat that it can. Does any one use a strip basket in the yak? Or do you mainly stick to wading? How do you deal wit...

Bulls for the Holidays!
My brother and I were in Pensacola this weekend for thanksgiving with our family and we brought our gear with us to try and find some big Bull Reds. We got out with the parents on Thurs night under a bridge in Alabama for some fun with bluefish, flounder, and drum. Then Fri morning Kiel and I hit th...

I have recently got back into chuckin the fly and I have a system that seems to work for me to find fish and not wear out your arm for a few lizards. When I am fishing an area that I am unfamiliar with, or an expansive flat where the fish may be spread out, I bring at least one or two spinning rods ...

Depends on the reel type you are purchasing. I have I couple of medium light 7' dogfish rods and have a 3000 stradic (the 2500 is similar in weight with just a smaller line capacity so why not 3000) on one and a daiwa capricorn 2500 on the other) If you like dogfish and dont have a good coupon to sp...

I am still alive...
So I have been really busy lately and dont get out nearly as much as I used to. This is very depressing, but with the new year in sight and a possible promotion in my near future I will be buying a new kayak and hitting the water hard in 2010.... I did get out a little today with Kevin up in Port Ri...
