Re: Just a Reminder for You Newbies

I have kayak fished for about 6 years now. As of yet have not had a mishap where I have needed my PFD. I have been lucky. I am now 68 (shit that sounds old when you say it like that) and fish by myself most of the time. About 2 years s ago I decided to improve my water safety while fishing. Traded m...

Re: Fishing with 6 year old

One good option would be a Native Ultimate 14.5 tandem. I used to own one of these. The advantage is that it is a true tandem with two seats that way the little guy can sit up front in his own very comfortable seat and you can keep track of what he is doing. The boat is very roomy and very stable. W...

Shamus Jumped 4 Tarpon on Sunday

Sunday was a perfect day to tarpon fish. Conditions were perfect and all the boaters apparently has someone else to drive crazy. Shamus jumped 4 fish while I sat in my kayak not 50 yards away and didn't even have a bump on my bait all morning. My presence there was not a total waste. I did manage to...

Re: Fun Snook Catch on the Upper Peace River

Cool video and cool foot grab technique. Hanging big snook by it's jaw out of the water not cool at all. That can damage and kill fish even if they seem fine at release.

Re: 77 year old kite surfer

Really interesting. I can relate to this guy in many ways. For about 20 years I was an avid windsurfer. Traveled to Aruba and other spots chasing the wind. Before that I had a Hobie 16 catamaran. So I can relate to his love of flying across the water. I am now 67, soon to be 68. I don't sail anymore...

This Tarpon Fishing is Easy

Told myself that I was not going tarpon fishing this year until someone else put one in the air. Well DaveR took care of that Sunday so off I went this morning. Met DaveR and Noles a zero dark thirty. Wind we blowing pretty good out of the east and there were no waves at the beach. Getting bait was ...
