Jack Attack?
Hey y;all... I am returning (temporarily) from my exile in the savage wilds of Wash DC. Hoping to get a day on the water while I'm home from Dec 20-27th. I'd love to find a big school of jacks to put a fly in front of. Anyone seen the winter schools yet?

So long, and thanks for all the fishing!
Want to say thanks to all you folks for friendships and fishing over these past 10 years. I’m taking a job up in the DC area, moving up there Labor Day weekend. While I’ll be back to visit, my fishing days around here are pretty much done for a few years. Headed out to Miguel this coming Saturday fo...

Re: Friday, 7/9 Miguel Bay
It is rare in my personal fishing experience that a plan actually works. But today, well, it was a good day! (No pics, my waterproof camera is still on the not-yet-budgeted list). Started as planned - on the water at first light. Had my trusted bone-color Spook Jr on the topwater rod, a jig and plas...

Re: High Contrast Shots
Reminds me of old fishing magazine covers. Nice, but not exactly realistic.
I'd save the technique for creating surrealistic landscapes, making funky architecture shots, but fish and fishermen don't do so well. You can create some neat seascape scenes though...

Re: Southshore on Wednesday 6/30?
Sorry I didn't get back to you guys, needed to stay home to prep the interview. Never heard of "Maximo" software before. Now I know that it's an IBM asset management tool - and that's about all I've learned.
Fingers crossed...

Southshore on Wednesday 6/30?
Given that I am not (yet?) employed, thinking about heading out early tomorrow, somewhere from Miguel to the Kitchen. Anyone want to join me? Will be off the water by 10:30 as I DO have an interview at 3!

Re: What is the best fishing book you have read?
1. The Old Man and the Boy, Robert Ruark. (Not strictly a fishing book, a great true tale of a boy growing up in the Carolina Low Country, hunting and fishing with his grandfather). 2. The Longest Silence, Tom McGuane - for us fly fishermen. 3. A River Runs Through It 4. Gierach's books. Non-fiction...

Evening/night fishing?
Anyone going out for night trips this week who'd be willing to take a night rookie along? While I'm not working, I may as well get some fishing in.

Re: Sponbills
Are these the birds that live in the Kitchen? Most reliable place I've found 'em.
Unfortunately, I didn't find any reds or snook in the same area yesterday.
