IT IS THE SMOOTHEST reel I have. Only one problem...I WILL NOT take it on the yak. It is a reel I will only take on...

You are right. My favorite setup is a Calcutta 250 matched to a 7' St. Croix. I love that setup and can cast it all day long without fatigue...it can handle some tough fish too. Mostly like pluggin the mangroves with it...JAKE I have 2 of the 400 Calcuttas, but like the 250 better. Have 2 of the 700...

I think the 2500 series is all you will need. You can put a lot more pressure on fish than you think you can with it. The only time I wouldn't suggest using it it if you are fishing a dock with big snook or reds... I also have the 3000 series Spheros and IT GETS HEAVY after throwing jigs and topwate...

Yep...carry both every trip. You never know when the cell towers will not pick you up by the VHF will work or vice versa. There are even a few people that carry a Cell Phone - VHF - and FRS. You can never be too safe out there. If you do get one, do yourself a favor and get one of the many submersib...
