The rig is mostly weed less but the hook is exposed enough for a quick hook set. If I need weight to get the soft bait down I a...

Re: Ft. Desoto
I fished Desoto from 1pm to sunset today. Water is clear and not much in the way of bait on the flats. Not much mullet either.
Once the tide started going out the trout turned on, caught 5 all in the span of about 30 mins. All dinks 12 in to 14 in

Looking for Fishing Camera
A little help please. All of you folks post some outstanding photos. I'm in the market for a good fishing camera, I've dunked and ruined two in the past 6 months. I'm not really interested in a go pro. The only thing I've seen that has sparked my interest is the Pentax WG3 At this point my only requ...

Re: Louisiana Crab Cakes and Blackened Redfish....from .....
Whoooooooohooo....Slap yo moma! I can't wait to try the crab cakes.
The blackened redfish makes it so hard to turn them back.
The wife brings home red and black caviar this past weekend, I'm thinking gross, why eat bait when I can have the whole fish.

Re: What's In Your Wallet?
Maybe I should have asked what species of fish are in your grand slam?
My favorite Grand Slams are Osceola, Eastern, Rio Grande, Mariam's

Re: What's In Your Wallet?
Depends on the type of slam.....local saltwater of reds, snook and trout I like flys that imitate a sinking crab, a slow sink mullet and a top water gurgler or popper........ The smokie mountains slam ....I'll go for a yellow sally, bead head pheasant tail or a green weeny Keep it simple, keep it cl...

The Myakka State Forest map shows a primitive camp ground and a canoe launch....never been there, so I don't know the details.

Good stuff.... lightly breaded, pan seared with a touch of olive oil... What fly did it hit? Good fertilized nitrogen enriched meal. I would not eat anything out of most retention ponds. How is that different than eating fish from Tampa bay, you see all them houses on the water with those nice gree...
