A great reminder Bill. However, in a safety-minded thread I'd like to respectfully contradict your clothing advice. Clothing choice is a little situational but in cases where there is any chance of extended immersion or separation from your watercraft your choice should be water temperature related....

First, check ebay for a charger--you might get lucky. Even if you buy a new one keep checking periodically as it can be nice to have a spare. That watt can make a difference, but given the situations you just described yourself being in I might not worry about it too much. Unless you want to listen ...
