Cheap Lures!
Ok guys, even though I haven't been doing much kayak fishing lately, I have to share a cheap lure tip in the hopes of reaping some good fishing karma. The Brandon Walmart on Causeway has four boxes of lures on clearance for 2.50 each. Spook Jrs (about 6 left in bone, I only bought 2), Bomber Long A'...

Govt. Shutdown is going to cancel my trip to Flamingo. Help!
Ok guys....if the govt. fails to pass a budget, Everglades Nat. Park is going to shut down 2 days before my 30th bday trip to Flamingo. I have a room at the Florida City Travelodge, arriving Wednesday night, with fishing Thursday and Friday. I'm debating canceling the trip, but the drive from the ho...

Re: PFCS #2 - Note about angler limit
I'm a newbie, both to the tournaments and Weedon (I did go last Saturday, but the winds kept me close to the kayak launch in the park), and that would be really helpful. I don't want anybody's secret spots or anything, but just having a clue on where to go would be great.

First Permit
OK...Disclaimer: This wasn't caught from a paddle craft, but a guy has to brag somewhere, right? I have yet to find a kayak I was comfortable taking 5 miles offshore anyway:D It was my first permit, and probably my last, given the size. A guide friend that saw the fish said "That was your first...

Re: PFCS #2 - Newbies
I've only fished one kayak tournament before, but never with you guys. Looking forward to getting out of Southshore and meeting some new people. Hopefully I can make it up there in the next few days to familiarize myself with the area so I won't be completely lost that morning. I'm hoping Todd left ...

Thanks. When he came up to the side of the kayak, I was TERRIFIED I was going to lose him after I saw all those spots.

Little CRB 9/24/12-10/2/12
Well, here is my first report. Big thanks to Todd for selling me my Commander 120, which I have enjoyed immensely over the past year. It's high time I contribute to this site which I read so often, plus I need some new kayaking buddies. Dad always told me, "If you want to be good at something, ...

Took it out to CRB yesterday, and loved it. Standing took a little practice, but I'll get better at it. Thanks again.

Re: New member from good ol' Ruskin
Thanks for the welcome guys (even though you both jabbed me with the "Live bait is for kids" deal!!). Looking forward to meeting some new people, and hopefully sharing some local knowledge of my area. Something I discovered not too long ago that has increased the simplicity of having a few...

New member from good ol' Ruskin
Hello everybody, Just wanted to introduce myself, I'm Thomas. I've been Kayak fishing for about two years, but last Thursday I ran into a lady down at Cockroach Bay who was really friendly, and after we struck up a conversation, she pointed me to this forum. I grew up fishing Cockroach Bay, Bishops ...
