Re: Beach Snook

krash....have you ever fished any of the freshwater sloughs on Sanibel? I did a little engineering for a remodel house on Clam Bayou. I got to know the contractor who lives on Sanibel but the homeowner was not on site - I walked back to the bayou and it was an easy kayak launch. There are supposed t...

Re: Beach Snook

krash, Yes, Sanibel is special for me too. First class beaches and true Gulf barrier island vegetation and feeling. But, yesterday's local news had drone footage above the Lighthouse showing clear blue water on June 3rd and brown water from the lighthouse tip of land clear across to Ft Myers beach. ...

Beach Snook

I will start fishing the beach on Sanibel for snook weekly depending on a good incoming tide.

Fly fishing if it is not too windy. Will carry a small selection of deceivers, schminnows and Puglisi baitfish flies.

Most likely park at one of the Blind Pass parking lots.

Re: Native Ultimate 12 ???

OK light craft is best for me also. I will (soon) trade one of my kayaks, the sit in 10 ft Pungo for a lighter kayak. I did not know that Native was making an ultralight. I know Hurricane has many models. A Honda CRV is on my list but it will become my wife's car. And it is time to trade the 04 Chev...

I cannot find a section that has specific Destinations.

Summer Steelhead

Any reports of summer steelhead runs.

They should be entering the coastal rivers of Western Oregon.

Colorado Fly Fishing

The great early summer river fly fishing for trout should just be starting in the mountain and valley streams. Mayflies, caddis and stoneflies all active this time of year. Any reports???

LM Bass on Poppers

The LM bass have just started hitting rubber leg poppers in the Cape Coral ponds and lily pad canals.

The sunset fishing should get better as this full moon wears down

Re: Required Safety Equipment

PFD is no problem.

But I do not normally carry flares or a horn while out fishing the shallows around Pine Island, Florida in my 10 ft long kayak.

Maybe I should to avoid a fine?

It finally stopped raining here in SW Florida today Wed, May 30, 2018

But, I have not found that the fish are back to biting.

Lots of new mosquitos near the mangrove swamps.
