Crawdads

I know this is slightly off topic, so thank god for the "general" forum. I used to fish for bass with crawdads but my buddy always used to just magically arrive with them... I never knew how or where he got them. Anyone ever catch these tasty little multi purpose fresh water lobsters aroun...

Land based Shark fishing

I know this isnt the right time of year really, but when it warms up a bit, I really want to catch some sharks, from the shore I guess, at least for now, until I have a bit more experience in the kayak. I have tried the skyway to no avail, hoping some of you long time locals may give me a bit of a c...

I was out on thursday by treasure island and also Fort Desoto. I didnt catch anything but did see several Pompano dying in the water...was wondering if it had anything to do with the water temp. Even saw a guy on a boat scooping them up to eat, so I hope they didnt die of some funky disease.

This is going to be your first saltwater trip and you wanted to target sharks and grouper? Catch some trout, ladyfish, snook, and redfish before you start playing around in the Gulf. I know the allure but get your sea legs first. Now, if you have been trolling the Great Lakes for king salmon or Lak...

Im not picky, just wanna catch some fish. Any input? Its become apparent that everyone is hesitant to give general info on wha...

http://paddle-fishing-forum.com/viewtopic.php?t=30892 We used to target them more often. One thing I have learned is that unless you plan on harvesting (bad mojo) use heavy mono leader and circle hooks instead of typical wire J hook rigs. It makes realease faster and safer. A quick swipe of the kni...

Shark Stories...???

So I haven't had a chance to target shark yet, but I certainly plan to eventually. I'd love to hear some stories from everyone elses experiences with them. Fishing for them or not, I'd love to hear it...pictures would be nice also.

try some carp fishing websites. I know they have backpacks of all types. Might be a little too big though.

A few general questions

do you guys troll pretty much every time you paddle? Also do you spend a lot of time anchored or drifting? Like do you go for grouper and just post up in one spot? What about for tarpon? Do you drift for them or know where you have previously caught them? These questions might all sound stupid but I...
