Going to Fort Desoto tomorrow. Would love some company
Anyone interested in meeting me at Fort Desoto tomorrow? I'd really love to get a shot at a tarpon, but need a buddy to be with me. I plan on hitting the water by 6:30 at the latest. If anyone is interested shoot me a PM with a phone number.....

Great Idea!kneedeep wrote: We always use a bronze hook for big species instead of stainless as well. They rust out much quicker in order to save the fish from added stress.

Re: Spooled so nasty yesterday....
Many thanks for the helpful info Rik and Trootin.... That was what I was looking for. I will absolutely not go out alone....I definitely understand that reviving the fish is just as...if not more important that catching it in the first place. If anyone out there sometime soon is planning a trip I'd ...

Cookn'fish: Not to sound like a smart alec but the way I see it, there are several ways to gain knowledge to not be a newbie anymore, those are 1. Trial and error, which i'd like to avoid from this point as much as possible, as my error lead to leaving a lot of line in the water as trash... 2. Ask s...

Spooled so nasty yesterday....

All of a sudden out of the corner of my eye, I see a massive tarpon head come out of the water behind us. His head was...

Stinkpottin' Ft Desoto and Egmont Key fir sharkies
Went on Monday. No action from 9 am to 4...pulled the boat out, refueled, (on gas and beer), and hit the water again searching for sharks. Started catching ladyfish for bait immediately, and got into a 3 1/2 foot bull shark soon after. Eventually we moved to "Shark alley" off egmont.... It...

That topsy turvy behind him is 18 1/2 inches.... meaning the fish would have to be just short of double that to be 34 inches.....im not seeing it....BearsFan wrote:I'm with the nazi on this one. Looks to be an awfully short 34.5". You must be like 6'7" or so right?DaveR wrote:Did you measure it?
