I have used the same method that you have for a long while and used a noodle for storage when not using. This rod stores the hooks in the blank. Worth the $42 to me. I have never pulled the trigger because I have always seen them between $70-90.

I just used screws with marine goop on my last trolley--it worked fine. If you have internal access use bolts with washers and nuts on the backside. That doesnt sound good :? ?...?...? I gotcha. I will be installing on a WS T140 and not too much inside access. I already have all of the hardware ......
